Explain your position on an issue. Justify opinion of topic under discussion with adequate reasoning. 30 mins to plan and write essay All the issue topics will have two sides. There is no "right" side: Decide your position on the topic after consideration of the pros and cons. Favor one side (80%) Spend about 5 minutes thinking and planning. (Draw up a table of points before deciding which side will make the most persuasive essay.) Use specific examples to support your point of view. Look at the topic in a holistic way to show that I am aware of the implications of the different positions on the topic. Read the specific instructions carefully to make sure your response aligns well with the directions.

Extra Tips Introduction and conclusion can be general, but the body must be very specific. Try to avoid using too many examples for one point. Stick to the 1 point - 1 example method. Good vocabulary is an asset, but don't use long words if you are not sure of the meaning.

The Issue Task is presented as a statement or pair of statements about a topic. (The topics are straightforward and require no specialist knowledge.) Following the statement there will be a set of specific instructions stating how to address the topic. No matter what the topic, the following points will apply:
