  1. Three spirits of Christmas visit Scrooge in hopes of reversing his cold hearted, greedy approach to life
    1. Since the visits from the three Spirits Scrooge's personality has changed completely. He is now always merry and cheerful
    2. A Victorian rich who neglects the poor and only thinks of their own well being
      1. No one in the village seems to approach Scrooge
        1. Scrooge has driven his neighbours not to speak to him
        2. Each stave in the book represents the change in Scrooge's personality
          1. Each stave displays different Ghost's of Christmas
          2. Dreadful, atrocious stingy old man
            1. Presented as an isolated man
              1. Isolated in his own environment
              2. Doesn't come across as very appealing
                1. "The cold within him froze his old features, nipped his pointed nose, made his eyes red, his thin lips blue, and he spoke out shrewdly in his grating
            2. A miserely owner of a London Counting-house
              1. Scrooge seems although he's already dead or waiting to pass
              2. Cold man
                1. Tight-fisted
                2. Shows how selfish he is with his money as when his only friend/business partner passes away and Scrooge organizes a 'cheap' funeral

                    1. When customers would enter Scrooge would answer to both names. Scrooge and Marley
                    2. Wasn't willing to buy a new sign for the business now Marley had passed. He kept the business name the same although Marley had passed away
                    3. Scrooge doesn't seem to be interested in anyone since Marley's death. Not even his own Family
                      1. Despises all things that give happiness
