Question Answer
Correlation The relationship between two data sets.
Positive Correlation When the values increase together.
Negative Correlation When one value decreases as the other increases
Strong Correlation When the points are located closer to one another.
Weak Correlation When the points are located farther apart from one another.
Influential Points An outlier that greatly affects the slope of the regression line.
Correlation Coeficient A number that is a measure of the strength and direction of the correlation between two variables.
Causation Where one thing will cause the other.
Residual The difference between the observed y-value (from scatter plot) and the predicted y-value (from regression equation line).
